I had the amazing opportunity to attend the World's Fair in Dubai in 2022. In true Dubai fashion every country in the world was offered a full building of which they could design, decorate and display the culture, opportunities and inspirations of their unique culture. It was incredible to walk though this city, learning about countries all over the world from the citizens who traveled all the way to Dubai to represent their home. The tastes, smells, displays, sounds and information was so varied it was stunning. During this visit we had the opportunity to watch a production called "The Pearl." A combination of fantastical acrobatics, theater, water and air stunts, the performance told the Arabian tale of a princess who was gifted a magical pearl. Peril and pursuit follow, culminating in her separation from family and her Amir. Redeemed in the end by the pearl, this production was like nothing I have seen anywhere else in the world. This bonbon is inspired by the magic, diversity, and wonder of not only this magical tale but also the pearls of diversity, marvel and wonder that can be found through our masterfully created world and peoples. I seek daily to find more of these moments and encourage you to tell the stories of the many hidden pearls you have encountered throughout your own journey.
